OAO Varioganneft started preparing for flood season of 2013.

To provide ecological security of oilfields exploitation in the snow melting period, smooth and reliable functioning of equipment and facilities the Company worked out an integrated plan of measures of preparation for the pending flood. The plan covers in detail the actions of all the services  responsible for working condition of all the facilities of Variogan oil block.
All the potential submergence areas are examined and the measures providing delivery of emergency  equipment and materials  thereto are worked out. The company provided reserve power supply schemes, which  enable to engage twenty four Diesel power stations. The company specialists are examining  and considering  the possibility of reconstruction, in case of necessity, of embankment at the oil production facilities to avoid snowmelt water insertion into open water reservoirs. The company specialists in cooperation with representatives of the Ministry for Emergency Situations are examining hazardous production facilities.
In anticipation of the flood the Company worked out a special  flood emergency alarm system, carried out unscheduled instructions for oilfield workers, specially designated responsible persons will be on day-and-night duty at all the subdivisions of the Company during the period of the flood, cooperation with local  authorities and MES representative is provided.
On the total Varioganneft is planning 71 measures of preparation for the flood season.  Implementation of the planned set of measures will enable the joint stock company to provide smooth oil production process and minimize the risk of emergencies at the facilities of Variogan  oil block during the flood season.
