Izhevsk. Construction of the student dormitory with a gym in Izhevsk continues the longstanding cooperation between OAO NK RussNeft and the Government of Udmurt Republic.
The new building of the Udmurtia state university Oil and gas institute was opened in Izhevsk two years ago. It was built and equipped thanks to a large-scale investment from NK RussNeft and personally Mikhail Safarbekovich Gutseriev, its President. Funding of the construction and equipment of lecture halls and laboratories was performed within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the oil company and the Government of Udmurt Republic. The university and oil industry experts are unanimous that the Oil and gas institute named after M.S. Gutseriev has a potential to grow into a federal level scientific centre in the near future. It is to be noted that at the same time, in August 2011, at the opening of the Institute, the President of NK RussNeft Mikhail Gutseriev and Udmurt President Alexandr Volkov agreed to build a well-furnished dormitory for students. Estimated amount, allocated by NK RussNeft for construction of the 9-storey dormitory for 339 people, will be around 250 million rubles. A 12x24 m gymnasium is being built in parallel to the dormitory in order to incentivize the students to practice the healthy life style and sport.
According to the contractor, the both facilities are 75% completed as of mid-July. Exterior and interior finishing, including tiling, is in progress. Water supply and sewage systems installation is near completion. The dormitory and gym are expected to be put in operation by the beginning of the new academic year. The dormitory is located on Krasnogeroiskaya street only two blocks away from the Institute which is a walking distance for the students.
