Saratovnedra wins “The best training centers of RF – 2013” competition

Experts of OOO ExpertMediaGroup (Saint-Petersburg) pointed out the high quality of the educational services, lecture rooms equipment, personnel professionalism, students achievements, history and deserved reputation of the institution.

Saratovnedra training center was established in 1950 to upgrade the Saratovneftegaz personnel and is now used to train the specialists and workers for professions needed in the oil and gas industry. Its graduates work at companies operating hazardous facilities not only within OAO Saratovneftegaz and its subsidiaries but also in 200 external companies. The major labour disciplines of the training center are oil and gas production operator, assistant-driller, driller, drilling rig maintenance mechanic, pulling unit operator, electrical mechanic, automation and instrumentation technician etc. Recently, the training center has significantly enlarged its scope specifically in the area of industrial safety, health, environment and fire safety basics.

Apart from the highly qualified teachers, the training center has all necessary for a high-quality training of students. The institution has a strong material basis. The training process may be qualified as computerized and hi-tech. There are 8 classrooms in Saratov and 3 classrooms at the Stepnoe branch (Sovietsky municipal district of Saratov region). Each classroom is equipped with up-to-date visual materials, new technical training devices like computers, projectors, interactive board, LCD-television. Introduction of OLIMP: OKS training-controlling system shifted the teaching process up to the advanced level by application of new information technologies and allowed to systemize and automate the regulatory framework for all training disciplines. This makes it possible to combine the theoretical and practical components of the training program. The training is supervised by experienced teachers using unique software. Combination of experience and novelty renders the desired outcome and allows to get more knowledge and practical experience for further application.

Unique assets of the training center are simulators for operations of a driller, assistant-driller, drilling rig maintenance mechanic, toolpusher, well control and a 3D universal crane operator simulator having no analogues in the region.

In 2013, Saratovnedra training center was the first among the educational institutions of Saratov region to obtain license for training drivers and specialists dealing with hazardous loads transportation on 4 disciplines as per the new order No. 202 of the Ministry of transport of RF dated July 9, 2012.

For the first 9 months of this year, around 1300 specialists of RussNeft group of companies were professionally upgraded there. The overall number of 2013 students including employees from external companies and organizations will be 4800 people. The major clients using the services of Saratovnedra training center year in year out include OAO NK Saratovneftegeofizika, OAO Transmash, subsidiaries of OOO Gazprom PKhG, ZAO PO Volga-Neft, subsidiaries of Volga region Russian Railways, subsidiaries of RAO UES of Russia, employment centers of Saratov region.

According to its 2013 Development Program, the training center widens the scope of its educational services and refurbishes its facilities. A new refurbished classroom will be used as a conference hall and computer classroom, the library and film archive have also been renovated, training software and quizzes were purchased.

Besides, Saratovnedra training center is a site, for the fourth year, for the joint educational project between OAO NK RussNeft and Russian state oil and gas university after Gubkin initiated by Mikhail Gutseriev, the President of the Company. Saratov regional preparation department of one of the most prestigious oil and gas universities of Russia was established in 2010. It needs to be emphasized that the pre-university preparation of school graduates (besides the children of employees of OAO Saratovneftegaz and OAO Ulyanovskneft, there are also straight-A students and best graduates of schools in the municipalities of both the Volga-river regions where the Company’s subsidiaries operate) and their further studies in the University are paid by OAO NK RussNeft. There are totally two regional preparation departments established by the Company, one in Saratov (Volga-river region) and the other in Raduzhny (Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous district). Within the project, over 50 graduates of these regional preparation departments from Siberia and Volga-river region became students of Gubkin oil and gas university, including 23 graduates in the current year.

One of the HR priorities of OAO NK RussNeft is both provision of training and professional upgrade possibilities to its personnel and preparation of young specialists who will be required by the companies of the Holding and in the industry in general.
